恥ずべくして不毛な精力の浪費は
満たそうとする欲望であり 満たされるまでは欲望は
偽りであり殺人的であり血なまぐさく罪深く
野蛮で極端で野卑で残酷で信じられない、
欲望は満たされるや否やすぐさま軽蔑すべきものになる
理性で抑えられないほど追い求め 満たされるや否や
理性で抑えられないほど憎悪する 食いついた魚を狂わせるために
仕掛けられ飲み込まれた餌のように、
狂ったように追い求め 狂ったようにとらえ続ける
満たされていた、今満たされている、更に究極の満足を求めようとする
満たされている時の至福から 満たされた後の悲哀へ
快楽を得る前はあんなに求めていたのに快楽を得た後は儚い夢のようだ、
そんなことはだれでも知っている、だがひとびとをこんな風に地獄へと誘う
悦楽というものは避けるべきだということはだれも知らないのだ。

spiritは「精神」というよりは「性的エネルギー」とか「精力」のこと。
actionは「性行為」のこと。

past reasonとは「理性のコントロールを超えている」ということ。
takerとは「餌(bait)を食う魚」のこと。

hadは「性交をした」こと。
havingは「性交をしている状態」のこと。
behindは「（性交）の後で」ということ。
