「南原充士」自作英訳小詩集(その2)

     Ever after

A lot of things happen in an instant
Too many cries are heard in the areas far away
Tears shed and wet the ground inconstant
They walk around where the homes existed on the way

A boy passes by without facial expression
A girl stops to look back into the sky of past
Old people stroll with a cain of depression
Who dare say that many people have passed

The worse is getting the situation around there
Then the better is getting hopefully the unusual
Enough food and clothes are donored so far

The days are as if at a waiting circle over there
How long will it take to get back to usual
May the horrific tale end with the words “ever after”

      A flag

A wind comes here to make the flag fly
Another wind comes here to make sure that
It continues to fly high up in the air
White and red colors look clear against the blue sky

Children walk looking at it through the wind
Young people run hastily for their respective directions
Old men and women stroll around the neighborhood
Dogs are accompanying them sometimes

When the evening comes
The wind becomes stronger
The flag flies in bigger motion
The sound like a scream is heard in the darkness

Next morning, there blows only a breeze
The sun rises as usual
And there is nothing special
But that the flag has disappeared off the pole.

      A song

Awakened from a nap
The tongue is wet and smooth
The juicy cells vibrate slowly
And send a message
An emotion created by a gesture
Goes out without reluctance
Beyond truth and falsity
A song is born spontaneously

      Structure of mind

Waves of light and darkness
Penetrate thin skin
Out of numerous symbols of recollection
An emotion is born
That no one knows

      Refrain

While a species is taken over
An individual that changed partly
Passes a baton to its successor

Even if probability of mutation is predicted
Mitochondria is satisfied with daily majority

Apart from statistics
Cells silently form a living thing

On the end of a genealogical tree
Toward all directions
A micro-tongue moves vividly
